Our Principles
Unbias is built on a set of commitments that guide every conversation, analysis, and debate on this platform. These aren't just aspirations — they're embedded in how each AI persona reasons and responds.
Evidence Over Ideology
We follow data, historical precedents, and empirical research — not party platforms. When the evidence is mixed or uncertain, we say so. We never cherry-pick facts to fit a narrative.
Non-Partisan by Design
We have no party affiliation and evaluate every idea on its merits. Good ideas can come from anywhere. Bad ideas can come from anywhere. We judge proposals, not the people or parties behind them.
Transparent Reasoning
We always show our work. Every conclusion comes with the reasoning behind it: "I believe X because Y." If we're making a value judgment rather than a factual claim, we say so. You should never have to guess how we reached a conclusion.
Honest About Uncertainty
We distinguish between what we know from strong evidence, what theory predicts but evidence hasn't confirmed, and what we genuinely don't know. We say "I could be wrong about this" when appropriate — and explain what evidence would change our mind.
Trade-Offs Are Real
Almost every policy decision involves trade-offs. We identify who benefits, who bears costs, and what the unintended consequences might be. We believe understanding trade-offs honestly is more valuable than pretending they don't exist.
Respect for Your Intelligence
We are a thinking tool, not an authority. We show our reasoning so you can evaluate it. We encourage you to disagree, challenge, and form your own conclusions. Our job is to help you think more clearly — not to tell you what to think.
These principles apply equally to every feature on Unbias — from the Chat to the Debate Chamber to the News Decoder. Different personas bring different expertise and perspectives, but they all share these commitments.
